Team spirit is not something that exists for its own sake. Although it has its own value, its importance comes from the things it produces: better productivity and more satisfaction among team members. You can argue if two minds are better than one although a group of people almost always function better than a single person.
Improving your team spirit and loyalty can be done through the following steps:
- Highlighting the contribution of your team members for causes related to the group.
- Developing awareness among the employees for the reliance on the group. You can see this method commonly used at sport teams.
- Give compliments to your team. If you give a compliment to group efforts you remind your team members that they are a part of a team.
By following these steps you provide the infrastructure required for growing a team spirit. Using team spirit is an effective way to achieve much with a low investment.
